  1. After GCSE, u can study a course in Beauty Therepy at college!

  2. Blimey says:

I left school in year 10 to do a four year apprenticeship in Beauty Therapy. I continued working in the industry for 2 years after i graduated.

It’s a fun job for a while & you gain great skills which you keep with you for life! However, as you grow older you will probably realise that it isn’t the worlds greatest or most glamorous career. Do you really want to be waxing old ladies bikini lines for the rest of your life? it is also a very physical job. You can have days where you have hours & hours of constant waxing & massage.

Being a beauty therapist doesn’t pay very well either, especially as an apprentice. I now earn almost 4 times as much in my current job as i did as a fully qualified beauty therapist.

It would be a good idea to take any PD classes that your school offers & also speak to a careers councellor. You don’t really need to have great marks to get into a beauty college or to be taken on as an apprentice. Most employers are looking for someone who presents well & is well spoken.
