I’m not sure what you mean by Beauty Therapist. However if you mean Cosmetology School, where you learn to do hair, make up, artificial nails as well as manicures and pedicures, spa therapies such as facials and body wraps, ect.,there is a lot involved depending on the state you live in.
Most states require a minimum of 2000 hours, some as many as 3000.You get to practice on each other as students, before you work on clients that can come to the school for services at a reduced rate because it is a school.
You will also be required to pass a state board test, which is both written, and then a practical test on a person to demonstrate your skills and knowledge.
As far as being hard, that is up to you. If you love doing that kind of work you will find it challenging and rewarding.
Keep in mind you will learn how to do things safely for the protection of your clients. Some things are governed by state laws, sanitation proceedures. You should also learn the basics of being in this business for yourself.
Take your time in selecting a school and make sure they have a good reputation, talk to some of it’s graduates about their experiences with the school. Find out if they have a placement program as well, for after you graduate.
Hope this helps, go for it! We all need more beauty in this world.
