Yeah I’m currently training at Level 2 and then I plan to do 3, its really good and by doing these it gives you more options for example to go into aroma therapy, or make up, nail art and even hair dressing,

mainly level 3 is spa work and tanning & massage and so much more but level 2 you do eye treatments makeup, facial, manicure pedicure there is alot more but i can remember the rest but im really enjoying and recommend it. one of my tutors has her own salon and loves it and the rest work part time in a salon, plus by the end of the 2 year course you will have 6 A levels.

    (: Good luck

    Edit:

I go to college 4 days a week, the college I go to has its own beauty academy, so I only really go to the main college to do health & safety and other lesons like that[written/theroy], apart from that im in the beauty academy from monday to wednesday doing practical like the treatments and I have some theroy too in there, but thursdays its boring theroy and you do like key skills which is maths and english but its so easy and the tutors help you and check all your work.

So far I haven’t had any problems apart from I need more time for me to do some of my health and safety work,[because I live quite far from my college so about the time ive got home i have like 4 hours untill really i should go bed to get at;least 6 hours sleep :( ] the health & safety is units like VR08 – that is just the code for what unit you are doing so thats manicure & pedicure and you get more for makeup, facials and tanning ,-

so for example you get a sheet with questions and what unit you are doing, one of them might be facials it might have

‘ how would you keep a clients modesty throughout the treatment?’
and once you have answered all the questions and they have been marked each sheet goes into your portfolio completed.

Because part of becoming a beautician you need to do a safe learner exam which isn’t hard, basically general knowlege – I passed :) so thats health and safety but you do thoses lesson and complete tasks which goes into your portfolio to show you know the basic general understanding of health, safety and hygein,

after that I start my anatomy and physiology which is about the circulatory system and hair and different parts of the nails, its quite easy if you keep up with the work.

Most of my practical lesson are about 2 and a half hours compared to my theroy which can be an hour, in the practical we do about half an hour of written work, and then practical whatever lesson it eg – waxing.

I haven’t started doing the biology side but it doesn’t seem that hard at the moment and you get books so if you need to know anything they are speciallly made for us as beauticians to know the scientific side and how the body works.
